How to get there?

IAESTE Austria will organise shuttle transport from and to the main points of arrival: The closest Airport at Wien-Schwechat (VIE), the international bus terminal and the Vienna main railway station. If you want to use the shuttle please indicate so, when you’re arriving.

If you are arriving early or leaving late or want to get there on your own for some other reason you can reach the hotel by public transport. It is located between the metro stations Westbahnhof (U3 (orange line) or U6 (brown line)) and Burggasse-Stadthalle (U6 (brown line)). You can also use the tramlines 9 or 49 for which the closest stop is Urban-Loritz-Platz. If you need to get there at night, the public transport might be replaced by night busses (line N49 or N64, stopping at Urban-Loritz-Platz)

If you’re arriving by car…

Please be aware that all these routes include toll roads: If you’re driving on a Motorway in Austria you will need to buy a vignette.

... coming from the north (eg through Brno or Prague) you may be arriving via the Nordautobahn A5 or the Donauuferautobahn A22.

If you’re arriving via A5, when you get to Knoten Eibesbrunn take keep left and merge onto E641/S1. Keep going until well after you’ve crossed the danube (the bridge on this route is prone to heavy traffic unfortunately). Take the exit Gürtel/Landstraße and keep going straight onto Landstraßer Gürtel. When you reach Linke Wienzeile (right after you cross the Wien-River) turn left and then turn slightly right onto Gumpendorfer Gürtel. After that it’s straight on to the hotel, which will be on the right-hand side.

If you’re arriving via A22 at the Knoten-Floridsdorf use the right lane and follow signs towards Zentrum/Gürtel/Nordbrücke/B221 (if you’re crossing the danube at this point, you’re on the right track). Turn right onto Gürtelbrücke before you pass the Fernwärme Wien, which is a huge building designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, so you really can’t miss it. Keep going until you get to Hütteldorferstraße and turn left there. Turn right onto Urban-Loritz-Platz and then right again onto Seidengasse. The hotel will then be on the right-hand side.

...coming from the east (eg through Bratislava or Budapest) you’ll be taking the Ostautobahn A4. At Knoten Praten follow the signs for Graz/A2/St.Marx/Slowenien/Deutschland, then take the exit Gürtel/Landstraße and keep going straight onto Landstraßer Gürtel. When you reach Linke Wienzeile/Margaretengürtel (right after you cross the Wien-River) turn left and then turn slightly right onto Gumpendorfer Gürtel. After that it’s straight on to the hotel, which will be on the right-hand side.

...coming from the south (eg through Sopron of Ljubljana) you’ll be heading north on the Südautobahn A2 and taking the exit towards Zentrum/Altmansdorf.After this you should keep right and merge onto Triesterstraße. After going past the evangelical cemetery (on your right) turn left, passing beneath the railway and go left again right away onto Margaretengürtel. When you reach Linke Wienzeile (right after you cross the Wien-River) turn left and then turn slightly right onto Gumpendorfer Gürtel. After that it’s straight on to the hotel, which will be on the right-hand side.

...coming from the west (eg through Munich or Nuremberg, you will be making your way to Vienna on the Westautobahn A1. In this case. When you get to the Schönbrunn castle, turn left onto Schönbrunner Schloßbrücke and continue onto Schönbrunner Schloßallee. When you’re past the Technology Museum keep right onto Felberstraße until you reach Neubaugürtel and turn left there. The Hotel will be on the right-hand side of the street.
